This seiko was chosen for this as it was the first " affordability gmt from seiko. If released during the height of gwot, given US SOF's history with seiko, i believe it would have been the watch of choice for a gmt. This seiko 5 gmt ssk001 looks nothing like the original. The bezel ring has been swapped to feel more tactile. The bezel insert is hand-made from an artisan in a coalition partner, Spain. shaped and polished by hand in the same process used by "omegala" speed masters and "molex" gmt masters
The flat bezel insert is an original design using the colors of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan flag with illuminated poshto numerals and pip at the 12 o'clock position. And pairs beautifully with the clear flat anti-reflective saphire crystal.
The second hand is hand carved and lumed with C3 superluminova by me in a process that takes 16 hours for each hand. The date wheel color has been changed to match the dial.
The engraving on the caseback and divers extension is done by an artisan out of Virginia.
The movement is regulated by me 6 positions with a focus of accuracy that can be biased for your lifestyle. With accuracy guaranteed within +/- 10 secs a day.
